About the event
Enter into the magical world of natural and botanical dyeing in this Dyeing with Onion Skins Workshop. Learn the basics of extracting pigment from yellow onion skins, and brew a vat of sunshine yellow dye as a group. Each student will design and create a muslin wall hanging, 12 x 24 inches, manipulating the pattern and intensity of color through methods of fabric preparation, folding, and dye treatment. the hanging will be fixed to a length of driftwood and ready to bring home as your new favorite piece of home decor, or make the perfect thoughtful gift. A guide to natural dyeing at home will be included in the class for further experimenting at home.
