About the event
Enter into the magical world of natural and botanical dyeing in this Dyeing with Avocado Workshop. Learn the basics of extracting pigment from fresh and dried avocado stones and skins, and brew a vat of blush pink dye as a group. Each student will design and create two beautiful silk scarves 21.5 x 21.5 inches, manipulating the pattern and intensity of color through methods of fabric preparation, folding, and dye treatment. These square silk scarves are so versatile and will add a lovely hint of color to your wardrobe or home decor, or make the perfect thoughtful gift. A guide to natural dyeing at home will be included in the class for further experimenting at home!
